Yahoo and Hotmail accounts also attacked by hackers?

Apart from Gmail, even some of the Yahoo and Hotmail users have been attacked by hackers. Google has accused China of the attacks, which this is not the case of Hotmail and Yahoo. However, it has been said that the nature of attacks in both the cases seem similar.

Nart Villeneuve, the senior threat researcher for the software security firm has said that the objective of the hacker seems to access the web mail accounts of the users to observe the nature of communications or to plan a future attack.

According to the recent Gmail attacks, the hackers had used the phishing attack to have an access to the Gmail account. The problem with the Hotmail security came in to notice a few weeks ago by the trend Micro.

However, Trend Micro in a statement had claimed that they have already dealt with the problem that was identified earlier. Recently even Yahoo was warned about a possible attack of the hacker by steeling the cookies in order to gain access to the email accounts. TZhe attempt had failed, but had proved that some of the attackers had also aimed the Yahoo email accounts. Till now, it is not clear that how grave the problem was for the Yahoo or the Hotmail users.
