Van der Sloot fled Peru and was found in Chile heading to the coast in a taxi cab. Chilean officials remanded van der Sloot to Peruvian police in Santa Rosa on Friday. He had bloodied clothes with him that are being DNA tested.

Surveillance video from a Peruvian casino on May 30th shows Flores and van der Sloot playing cards. She won 5,000 soles (roughly $1,755) that Joran is believed to have stolen. A hotel surveillance video later shows van der Sloot and Flores entering the hotel together. Another hotel surveillance camera has them on film entering his room. More footage shows van der Sloot leave the room and the hotel alone.

A Peruvian judge has extended the investigation prior to filing formal charges against Dutch citizen Joran van der Sloot. Van der Sloot is suspected of killing Peruvian woman Stephany Flores on the 5 year anniversary of Natallee Holloway’s disappearance in Aruba for which he was twice arrested.

Carlos Neyra of the Peruvian National Police criminal investigation division says van der Sloot has a lawyer assigned by the Dutch embassy. The Dutch embassy says it is not paying for a defense attorney.

CNN reports, “The Dutch Consulate has told Peruvian authorities that it is not comfortable with the way van der Sloot has been presented to the media, Neyra said. The Peruvian interior minister is asking authorities not to talk about the case without his authorization.”

He instructed hotel staff not to bother “his girl.” They entered days later due to a foul smell. Flores had been beaten to death. A tennis racquet found in the room is believed to be the weapon.

While he was paraded before the cameras in Peru, he reportedly asked to speak to his mother.

In a related story, van der Sloot faces an arrest warrant for extortion and wire fraud. Earlier in May, he extorted $15,000 dollars from Natalee Holloway’s mother for information on how her daughter died and where her remains were. He asked for $250,000 total.

I am friends with one of Mrs. Holloway’s relatives.
We in Alabama knew that Spoiled Rotten Narcissistic “Punk” was “Guilty” as Homemade Sin.
    Now, it id Judgement Day.
South American Prisons are notorious Hell Holes and that’s where he’ll spend the rest of his life.
And, when his life is over with, The “Real Judgement will come when he stands before God.
Then he’ll spend eternity in HELL where he belongs.

we all knew he was guilty of Natalee’s murder. He should have been linched then. Now, another poor young girl has died at this Sociopath’s hand. Throw away the key. And if Dutch authorities or the embassy have anything to do with his defense, boycott spending any money there, or going there for vacation.

I too agree with JL, he should of been born dead! Only he knows how many other females live he has taken. His father saved him once, he should of went on to TRY to do positive things in his life!

I do feel for his mother somewhat, however she knew what her son did and they (her and his father) should of not tried to cover it up! I bet she is wishing NOW that her son was in a prison in that Piss Ass Country of Aruba!

His daddy is not around to save him this time. The kid is a monster. Hope he enjoys the rest of his life in a Peruvian prison. From what I have read abbout the conditions in prison, he’ll wish he, too, was dead.
