Shark attack in Egypt leaves a family in shock

A family from Branston who were holidaying in Sharm-el-Sheikh in Egypt, described how they were swimming in the same beach just hours before a woman was killed by a shark. The family described the shock they experienced while the incident happened.

Wayne Gladding, said that he had heard of such rumours of sharks on the beach and that the officials had closed the beach for swimming for a while. “At first everyone was joking about it and laughing and within a few days the beaches were open and declared safe and no-one thought anything of it,” he said.

The family was swimming just a few yards from where the woman was attacked by the shark. It was only when everyone started shouting and running away they came to know that something was seriously wrong.

The family is still under shock and has sweared that they wont be coming back to this resort. In spite of efforts by the resort to keep the beach safe, the shark attack has definitely affected the tourism in Egypt.
