NASA gets continuous calls over 21 December Doomsday
NASA is recently getting flooded with phone calls and e-mails inquiring about the presumed end of the world myth on December 21, 2012. According to the supposed myth of the Mayan Calendar, the world is coming to an end on December 21. However, the myth had gone extended massively via the internet.
According to NASA spokesman, the space agency generally receives over 90 calls or e-mails in a week, which in the last few weeks have increased to as many as 200 to 300 calls or emails of people contacting the agency to confirm the end of the world theory.
Recently NASA posted many interviews of scientists in the web using taxpayer money to demystify the doomsday myth. These posts draw over 4.6 million views. In addition, to spread the message further the agency also released a four-minute video on Youtube last week stating, “Why the World didn’t End Yesterday”, which was viewed by over 2 million people.
