Australia pace bowler, Brett Lee will miss the ICC 2010 World cup T20 after he strained his muscle in the right forearm.
Lee was injured in the warm-up game against the Zimbabwean side, which the Australians went on to lose by one run. Lee had a good match though and he bowled his four overs for 13 runs, even as the opposition raked up around 170 in the 20 overs.
Lee also got one wicket.
An Australian cricket team spokesperson said, “It’s a muscle strain. We have gone to the ICC Technical Committee to ask for a replacement player.”
An MRI scan was performed and the strain was revealed.
Earlier, Lee had suffered from an elbow injury that had meant that he had barely played in a few games for Kings XI Punjab in the IPL and had then flown back home. The Aussies have denied that this injury is anything to do with the elbow injury.
