US schoolkids get armoured bags after shooting incident
US school kids are now getting armored bags in the aftermath of the Connecticut school shooting.
After the shooting incident in Connecticut’s Sandy Hook Elementary School, that took 20 children lives, parents are rushing to buy an armored backpack for $200 than risk their child’s life.
Unusual spike was observed in sales for armored backpacks for children. The armor inserts that cost up to $400 will be able to stop bullets from handguns but not assault weapons.
Gun stores and self-defense retailers are flooded. While parents are buying armored backpacks for children, firearms enthusiasts are rushing to stock up on semi-automatic rifles anticipating stricter gun control measures.
The recent rampage has resulted in record weapon sales in some states, particularly similar to the AR-15 rifle used by the gunman in Connecticut incident.
Some gun shop owners have stopped selling the remaining the assault weapons, in anticipation of higher value in future. President of US, Barack Obama had instructed his administration to bring proposals on reducing gun violence.
