Punxsutawney Phil 2011 predicts early Spring on Groundhog Day
Every February 2nd, Punxsutawney Phil comes out of his home and looks for his shadow. Phil then tells his prediction to the Inner Circle members in Groundhogese. So far, Punxsutawney Phil has been right 39% of the time. That is a better average than the TV weathermen have.
Punxsutawney Phil came out of his house this morning and did not see his shadow, so we will have an early spring!
The Inner Circle members are fluent in Groundhogese and they translate Phils words for the whole world.
The Huffington Post reveals: Including Wednesday’s forecast, Phil has seen his shadow 98 times and hasn’t seen it just 16 times since 1887, according to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club’s Inner Circle, which runs the event.
The townspeople of Punxsutawney have been taking care of Phil since he first started making predictions in 1887.
The entire prediction ceremony is done in public and people from all over the United States, Canada and Mexico eagerly await Phil’s yearly predictions.
