Djokovic overcame Mardy Fish in the second round when the American injured himself and gave Djokovic a walk-over.

Fourth seeded Nicholay Davydenko also entered the quarter-final with a 7-5, 7-5 win over his opponent Marin Cilic.

Second-seeded Andy Murray will take on Albert Montanes in the pre-quarter-finals while third seeded Robin Soderling faces Nicolas Almagro for a place in the quarter-finals.
