Shane Watson slams century for Australia v India
Australian opener Shane Watson slammed a century for Australia on the first day of the first Test match at Mohali. Watson’s century ensured that the Aussies got off to a good start in the first Test match.
Simon Katich had been dismissed early in the first innings to Zaheer Khan, but Watson joined hands with the Australian captain Ricky Ponting to get Australia to a very strong position. The Aussies were 154/1 at this stage, and looking good to get to 500.

Fortunately for them, Watson was dropped twice – once on 0 and another time on 37 to allow him to get away. Even Tim Paine was dropped before he had opened his account.
On the second day, Watson was dismissed by Harbhajan Singh, but at lunch, the side went was at a healthy 295/6.
