The Delhi Daredevils (DD) and the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) will play each other on May 15. The venue for this game is Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi. The dd vs kxip game is going to be the 64th match of the Indian Premier League 2012.

Delhi Daredevils and Kings XI Punjab are the only teams who have three more games apiece to go before the playoffs. Interestingly, two of these matches are among themselves.

Delhi still sits at the top of the points table despite losing two of the last three games played. They still have two games in hand although they are equal on points with the second placed Mumbai side.

Delhi’s successful season so far has been dependent on Morne Morkel’s attacking bowling and individual performances by some of the top batsmen in this format of the game. Sehwag and Pietersen were their top scorers earlier in the tournament. After Pitersen’s departure, David Warner announced himself with an aggressive century. Sehwag has been unable to score in the last three games. His form would be crucial for the Daredevils.

As far as Kings XI side is concerned, they have an amazing away record this season. They now have won five away games in a row. This includes KKR, CSK, RCB and MI. So, they cannot be discounted at Delhi although the Daredevils are the favorites. The youngster’s in Punjab side have been the real difference this season. Mandeep Singh has been their highest scorer. Other youngsters like Awana and Gurkeerat Singh have also made enormous contribution.

Furthermore, the inclusion of Azhar Mahmood has also been a big factor. The Kings XI have won five of the eight games he has played in. Skipper, Adam Gilchrist is still out due to injury. His return is doubtful at the moment.
