The Deccan Chargers (DC) will host the second team this year at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad Deccan. The Delhi Daredevils (DD) will play there on May10. This (dc vs dd) will be the 55th encounter of the Indian Premier League 2012.

The Deccan Chargers’ poor form continues to follow them this season. They have won just two games in eleven played so far and are consequently placed at the last spot on the points table.

Apart from three players including Dhawan and White, who are among the top ten run-getters in IPL 2012 so far, and Steyn, who is the sixth highest wicket taker of the tournament so far, none of the players have made any meaningful contribution.

The biggest disappointment has been their skipper, Kumar Sangakarra, who even had to sit himself out for two games because of bad form. He has managed to score just 180 runs in nine innings, out of which 82 were scored in one innings. So, his combined score for the other eight innings has been 98!

The Delhi team has also relied on two players as far as batting is concerned. Pietersen and Sehwag have scored 773 runs between them. Now that Pitersen has left to play the England and West Indies series, Sehwag will have extra responsibility on his shoulders.

Mahela Jayawardene has been their third highest scorer with 159 runs in nine innings. Just like his fellow countryman on the opposing team, Mahela has also been totally out of touch. He also has 104 runs from eight innings. Furthermore, Ross Taylor has also struggled with a batting strike rate of 88.42.

The Daredevils would pounce on this chance to once again lead the table as they have one game in hand. Needless to point out is the part Morne Morkel will play in this pursuit. He is the highest wicket taker of IPL 2012 with Lasith Malinga.
