Two time winners, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will host the current table leaders, Delhi Daredevils (DD) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. This is going to be the second big match of May 12, after the KKR vs MI game. The csk vs dd game will be the 59th of this year’s IPL.

The Delhi Daredevils and the Kolkata Knight Riders are placed at the top two positions, with 3 and 2 points clear of the third best team, respectively. Add to this margin, a game in hand for both of them. Thus, they are most likely to go through to the playoffs.

This leaves two more spots in the playoffs and and basically five teams competing for them. All of these are within three points of each other. A win here will take Chennai to the fourth spot.

The Super Kings are struggling with their batting. Big names like MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina have yet to take off. Albie Morkel and R Jadeja have not had enough chance to show their prowess. Apart from Du Plessis no Chennai batsman has clicked so far.

The Daredevils, on the other hand, are cruising at the moment. Just when it seemed that their batting might lose its bite because of Pitersen’s absence, Warner came in and filled his shoes better than Pitersen himself. Warner bludgeoned the Chargers in their last game and scored the third century of the tournament (one of the other centuries is Pietersens).

Adding to this, Sehwag has been in immaculate form. After scoring five fifties in a row, he has been unable to score big in the last two innings. this will be his opportunity to come close to Gayle’s total runs and earn the orange cap.
