Yao Ming, Ye Li Official Wedding Pic
Yao Ming and Ye Li are reported to have met about 8 years ago when he was 19 and she was 17. He was playing for the Shanghai Sharks at the time.
They dated in secret until the 2004 Athens Olympics closing ceremony when they were seen walking hand-in-hand.
It was also gossiped that Yao was linked to television actress, Nia Long.
At 5'2", Yao said that Nia was not his
type.
6'2" Ye Li is his type…and now his wife.
At a hotel across the river from the Shanghai's historic Bund, 70 family members gathered for a Chinese-style ceremony at the Shangri-La Hotel in Shanghai's finanancial district while dozens of security guards patrolled the hotel.
Yao is expected to spend tomorrow in Beijing at a ceremony to makr the one-year countdown to the 2008 Olympics.
