Who’s Got It Right on How China is Handling Tibet?

Submitted by Bill Belew on Monday, 14 April 2008No Comment

The torch came and went nearby my house last week. In the end, the mayor of San Francisco had to secretly reroute the run at the last minute to keep protestors from making fools of themselves in a bid to protect a country, Tibet, that 90% of them couldn't find on a map. I wonder, could they even find China.

Here are two more perspectives on the goings on in a land far far away.

BBC, CNN, Washington Post, N-TV, Bild Zeitung, RTL, Berliner Mogenpost, Der Spiegel…would any of you care to comment.

Take a look at:

China and Tibet from a Chinese Australian perspective

and

Tibetan woes.

Question: Which sound more like news. Beijing government beats up on Tibetans or Beijng and Lhasa try to work out their differences?

I am looking forward to the Beijing Games and hope the rest of the world can distinguish between mainstream media exaggeration, political posturing and a sporting event.

How about you?
