What’s Blogging Doing for You?
It's been 21 months since I started blogging for a living. I jumped in with both feet and haven't looked back…though, I probably should have.
I have written 7,500 blog posts at the three blogs I maintain for KnowMoreMedia.
The three blogs I write are TheBizOfKnowledge, at PanAsianBiz and at RisingSunOfNihon.
So what? What's it gotten me?
1. I have had 2.75 million unique visitors.
2. They have viewed some 4.75 million pages.
3. I am blessed with some 1300 RSS readers…mostly here at PAB.
4. I also pay my mortgage blogging.
Don't you wish you could pay your mortgage by writing on your blog in your garage?
75-80% of my visitors come from a search engine started by a company right up the street from me. Google. They are in Mountain View, I am in Sunnyvale. I can get there in less than 10 minutes.
Google sends about 2/3 of all traffic that I get.
That's why Google can set the standards for advertising, rates and such. I don't like it, but that's the way it is.
15-18% of my visitors are referral. I have my blogs interlinked pretty well for the more popular posts. And I enjoy the fact that readers/searchers think enough of what they found on one post to go looking elsewhere in my little network.
The rest are direct traffic.
I have another blog.
It's kind of off-the-wall, like me I suppose.

If you are interested in what else I think about besides China, Japan, Asia and Education, it's there…and even Wispid is NOT all I think about.
