South Korean Banks Trust in God
"Pastors are not usually issued credit cards because they do not meet credit requirements," says a bank official in South Korea.
However, the banks have come up with a "pastor card" to allow clergy members to buy gas, movie tickets, and Bible 'stuff' AND, earn bonus points that can be turned in to donations for their churches.
Well, that ought to keep them honest, no? If the donations make their way to the church, to the elders and staff, to the budget makers…maybe they can get a raise out of those bonus points.![]()
It's a bit like the Pharisees of old wanting people to give more so they (the religious leaders) could earn more.
For now…only the Protestant clergy has the trust of the banks. The Buddhists and
Catholics have to wait…or get their God to intervene.
So, I wonder, are the banks really trusting the preachers to pay them back, hoping the preachers will pay up to get the bonus points and a raise, or trusting God.
What do you think?
