Recycled Condoms Used in Chinese-Made Hair Bands

step one

And to think we were worried about lead in toys, or cardboard in the dumplings.

Snopes says it’s true that awoman in China found her hair band unraveling, so she cut the thread off it only to find recycled condoms inside! Unused, thank goodness.

step two

“…a small part came loose when I used the bands to tie my hair up one morning. It looked strange to me because of its different color – not the yellow color we normally see in plastic bands. I peeled deeper and found something that looked like a condom.”

Thanks goodness she didn’t find something yellow-colored you normally see in a used condom, eh? Gosh, I am sorry I know that. Just think, had the things been used before what the possibility of spreading STDs might be.

step three

It is sincerely hoped (for lack of a better word in such circumstances) that the prophylactics had failed to meet quality control standards at the manufacturing plant. Hopefully the rubbers weren’t found lacking in other QC tests. Or is that another reason why Chinese have so many people?

step four

So, China. What about this quality control thing? What other things might we should be looking into to see what’s inside? I’m afraid to know.

    Its just rubber? :)

Someone does not know what condoms are made out of.

As a side note, why the hell use condoms in the first place China? Oh wait, because you like to take short cuts in everything you do because you have no decent quality of living for your citizens so you think that should be forced up on EVERYONE who you export to.

This is an old story. Given that many MANY Chinese people do not use condoms I would not worry about the hairbands having used condoms inside.

They are probably using Chinese-made very cheap low-brand condoms.

    It’s quite industrious really.
