伯 bo 乐 le 识 shi 马 ma  Bo Le can judge horses.

Bo Le is a mythological being in Chinese lore.

He was especially capable of judging '1000-mile steeds,' horses with great strength and stamina.

Bo Le is said to have rescued such a horse that was being forced to work like an old nag at hauling salt.

The expression came to be used of people who are good at discerning or judging and could appreciate good human ability and skills.

After working long and hard at a job, all workers want to be able to say of their supervisors that they are like Bo Le.
