One Reason Why There Will Be No Boycott of the Beijing Olympic Games

There's a reason why the 2008 Beijing Games will not be boycotted.

Political associations and governments are not supposed to use the Olympic Games for any pretext to launch a boycott or get some benefit.

But, that's never stopped them before.

The Games are supposed to be for the benefit of young athletes.

But, that too has never stopped boycotts before.

The reason there will be no boycott – the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) says, "We definitely say 'no' to any boycott and 'yes' to the Olympic Games."

Gosh, well, they said "no." So, I guess a boycott is out of the question.

But, then that has never stopped boycotts in the past either.

Do you think there is a danger of the Games being boycotted this year?
