Olympic Torch at My House Next Week

The Olympic torch is coming to my house. Well almost. It'll be right up the street making the 6 mile route, (9.6km) trek through San Francisco. I'm about 25 miles away.

Problem – SF's mayor needs to remind activists group that the Olympics are NOT about politics.

Gee, Gavin…can you really decide when you don't want the activists to, um, be active? Isn't that like telling them not to breathe?

The torch relay will

1. start with a ceremony at McCovey Cove,

2. travel along the Embarcadero past Fisherman's Wharf

3. go briefly through the Marina District

4. head back along the Embarcadero to Justin Herman Plaza.

5. have a closing ceremony is scheduled to take place at the plaza.

Police are reserving the right to make last minute changes to the route to keep potential disrupters out of the loop.

There are 80 people who will carry the torch over the 9.6 km = 120 meters a piece.

The names of the 80 haven't been made public.

How many of them are activists, we wonder.

Are you suggesting an American politician to do what is his best at: lying ?
