Olympic Stars – Munich 1972 – Mark Spitz

Submitted by admin on Thursday, 24 January 2008No Comment

After not living up to the hype in the 68 games, Mark Spitz hunkered down for four more hard years of training.

Seven events.

Seven gold medals.

Seven Olympic titles.

Seven world records.

His last race, the 4 x 200m was just one hour after his final in the 100m butterfly.

He also won three gold medals in three days.

Nobody will ever get seven gold medals AND seven world records in the Olympics again.  Ever.
