Bao Xishun is no longer the world's tallest man.

Leonid Stadnik, 37 passed him up a long time ago…unless he grew 8 inches last night.

Leonid is 8' 5" tall (256.5cm) compared to Bao Xishun who is a tiny 7' 9" (236.2cm).

The two could be friends. Bao is a herder. Leonid is a veterinarian.worlds_tallest_living_man_leonid_stadnik.jpg

But…Bao has a wife and can save dolphins.  Can Leonid do that? Huh? Huh?

So, um, what took

so long for Leonid to stand out? Have the people of Halyna in northwestern Ukraine been living in a vaccum?

The tallest man ever, excluding Goliath, was Robert Pershing Wadlow who grew to 8' 11" (271.8 cm).

Stadnik's growth apparently took off after a brain operation that might have stimulated his pituitary gland.

Meanwhile…NBA star wannabes are asking, "What's a pituitary gland?"

Yao Ming is about a foot taller than many NBA stars…Leonid is almost a foot taller than Yao Ming!
