Lenovo Profits Up 12-fold

Submitted by Bill Belew on Thursday, 2 August 2007No Comment

Lenovo Group Ltd. is the world's number 3 personal computer maker behind HP and Dell.

In the last quarter the Lenovo Group saw profits jump 12-fold.

Total profits were $66.8 million.

Since acquiring IBM's personal computer unit, Lenovo has been trying to establish itself as trustworthy, improve efficiency and increase its global market share.

To do that, the company needs profits to work with.lenovo.jpg

Shipments in the Americas rose 15%.

Until this past quarter's rebound, Lenovo had found

itself in fourth place, slipping behind Taiwan's Acer. But, now the company is back to third with a global 8% market share.

I want to replace my IBM Thinkpad but have reservations since Lenovo took over.

Does anybody else have experience with the new Lenovo Thinkpads compared to their old IBM Thinkpad?

Wanna share?
