Japan Hinting at Staying Home from Beijing Games Because of Tibet Crackdown?

Submitted by Bill Belew on Wednesday, 19 March 2008No Comment

Are the Olympics going to stink of smell like politics?

China's crackdown in Tibet (by some reports, some 80 people have been killed)…is it going to affect the Olympics?

There are an awful lot of people in Hollywood, who most likely couldn't find Tibet on a map if it were the only country colored in red, that would like to see China called on the carpet for its treatment of the autonomous region.

Japan's Foreign Minister is urging China to make sure that nothing more happens in Tibet that could 'cause an impact on the Beijing Olympics.'

What kind of impact? Japan staying home maybe? Asking others to stay home?

How many people need to be killed by the Chinese government in a crackdown on protests in the area for the world to hear? to stay home?

Let's hope we don't have to find out.
