Intel Steals From Samsung

Submitted by Bill Belew on Wednesday, 3 May 2006No Comment

There is a lot of stealing going on.

www.intel.com stole www.samsung.com marketing chief, Eric Kim. This is not recent news, of course, but Kim is beginning to make his move.

Kim was born in South Korea and lived there until he was 12 years old….long enough to acquire the hard work ethic of the country.

On his way to Intel, Kim stopped by at Samsung, Spencer Trask, Dun & Bradstreet, Pilot Software, Amdahl and Hughes Aircraft, after receiving a masters degree in engineering from UC Berkeley and an MBA from Harvard.

However, before that is when he really learned. He spent time in Alaska pulling the legs off of live king crabs and dreaming they were doing the same to him so that he could save up enough money to go to school.

Kim said he has learned, "technology defines what is possible, but marketing defines what is needed."

He is now in charge of Intel’s $2.5 Billion marketing and advertising budget.  And he aims to rebuild the image of this behemoth or pull the legs off of his troops while trying.
