How Much for an Olympic Bed?

Submitted by Bill Belew on Tuesday, 26 February 2008No Comment

I got this comment, spam maybe?

"I have an apartment here in Beijing which have a very good location, only
20 minutes to National Venus by subway, and only 5 minutes walking to
subway sataion. it will cost 8500 usd for one month (three beds room
apartment for 6 person or a family), please feel free to contact with me if
you are intrested in it. My email: olimpicbeds@gmail.com, ww.olimpicbeds.com

Thanks."

I am not advocating this service by any means. I mean, who wants to pay $8,500 a month to someone/s who can't spell Olympics.

However, it is an indication of how much it'll cost to stay in the capital during the games.

Theoretically, you and 6 friends could split the cost for the month. In that event, $8,500/6 = $1400/month/31 days = $45/day. Doable, I reckon if you want to hang around in Beijing for a month and you have five friends who want to do the same.

    Bill,

First of all, I agree. Too expensive. 20 min by subway means these guys are far from the city… and the subway system sucks so it will be a chore to go out and enjoy the city.

I’m not surprised the guy misspelled Olympics. Typical $-sign goggles. Oh, I am surprised, however, they aren’t quoting Euros!
