HealthyToys.org - Checking up on China
The idea behind Healthytoys.org is an online resource built by the Ecology Center to help holiday shoppers identify non-toxic toys.
Um, that is, to make sure China doesn't send us any more bum toys, even Beijing could blame it on Santa, Jo-Ann Stores, Marvel , Mattel, Fischer Price or Dollar Stores.
Jo-Ann Stores expanded their recall of over 100,000 children's toy gardening tools in October.
By early November, two different companies recalled 760,000 toy cars and action figures sold at Dollar Stores.
Marvel Toys called back 175,000 Curious George plush dolls.
Mattel recalled 675,000 Barbie dolls.
Fischer price recalled one million Chinese-made Dora the Explorer and Sesame Street Character toys.
Legal responsibility for toy safety belongs to the toy sellers in the United States.
Um, ultimate safety for toys belongs to the parents.
Healthytoys.org might be the tool parents need to check up on Santa and his factories.
