Gary Hall Jr. Takes Step Toward Beijing Olympic Games

The U.S. Olympic Committee confirmed that the holder of 10 Olympic medals, five golds, three silvers and two bronzes, Gary Hall, Jr, will participate in the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Hall, Jr. will swim only the 50 meter freestyle at the Pan Am games but it will serve as a kick-off in his practice toward the 2008 Olympic Games.

Hall Jr took home medals in the Olympic Games of Atlanta (1996), Sydney (2000) and Athens (2004).

The young man has diabetes and has been making the lecture circuit to teach people who have the disease.

Nope…don't have to be too fat, eat too much sugar and too many carbs to have diabetes.

As the games get closer…I will from time to time, more

times than just time perhaps comment about swimmers in particular..or maybe even have my son guest blog about them. He is saving his old man money on a swim scholarship at a Division I school in the Midwest….making me right proud, too.

What's your favorite Olympic sport?
