Chinese Thinking More Postively about Olympic Games Impact

The Beijing Olympic Games are costing a bundle.

Beijing Revises Olympic Budget to $2 billion

But the average Chinese on the street thinks it's worth it.

About 78% of those surveyed in the 20-45 age bracket are lauding the Games' worth….68% last month.

Some 93% think the Games will promote China to the rest of the world…up from 85%.

Around 70% say that the domestic tourism industry will flourish as a result of the Games….and continue to grow long after the closing ceremony.

Finally…62% think China will have a better medal haul than Athens.2008.games.beijing.jpg

The survey was conducted by Olympicworldwide partner Visa who asked shoppers in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen from July to September.
