China’s Two Best Athletes, Yao Ming and Liu Xiang Mark One-year Countdown to 2008 Olympics

Beijing's year long party has started.
August 8th, 2008 – 8-8-8 will be the day China kicks off the 2008 Beijing Olympic Summer Games.
Eight is China's luckiest number. There is no coincidence that the games will be started on that day.
Think of it as how westerners feel about sevens, or 7-7-7. Or the way the devil thinks about six as in 666.
China's two
best athletes, world record holder Liu Xiang and basketball star/newlywed Yao Ming were in Beijing to mark the moment when it became less than one year until the start of the games.
Oh…and Coca-Cola was there, too. Coke's red matches China's love for red.
