China Airlines Jet Explodes – All Passengers Safe

All 165 passengers aboard a Japan-from-Taiwan bound Chinese Airlines jet escaped before the plane exploded into flames on the tarmac of Naha in Okinawa.

The 157 passengers + 8 crew members got out on the emergency slides just minutes before the plane burst into a fireball.

The airlines skidded on the tarmac on its way from the landing strip to the gate starting a fire that prompted the emergency

China Airlines has a lot of problems having caused more than 1000 deaths as a result of accidents during the 1990s ('94, 98, 99). 225 deaths happened in 2002 when a China Airlines crashed as it flew from Taiwan to Hong Kong.

I think that from now on more people will pay attention to the emergency exit procedures, especially on China Airlines planes…and most especially the ones leaving from Taiwan going anywhere.
