Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games Ticket Scam Busted

Submitted by Bill Belew on Sunday, 22 April 2007No Comment

The 7 million some tickets for the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games have just gone on sale and already there are websites selling fake tickets…in China. Well, at least there was a scam afloat.

Chinese police arrested three people who set up a fraudlent site to sell bogus tickets to the 23 some venues.

Of the 7 million tickets that will be sold, 60% are reserved for the residents of China, 25% for the rest of the world and the remaining 15% for schools, college students and young athletes as part of an educational program.beijing.2008.games.jpg

Each Chinese resident is only able to buy one ticket per sport, and each ticket will have its own embedded computer chip to deter forgers.

Why is it that there are so many people intent on doing wrong?
