Asia’s biggest Air Show ‘Aero India 2009′ in Bangalore


‘Aero India-2009′, the much awaited premier and biggest air show in Asia, got off to a flying start in Bengaluru with an exciting aerobatic display,
The 7th Aero India is a air show and aviation exhibition held in Bangalore, India at the Yelahanka Air Force Station.
This Show is organized by the Ministry of Defence and is held in association with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the Indian Air Force (IAF), the Department of Space and the Union Ministry for Civil Aviation.
The 1st edition of the air show was held in 1996. The 9th edition is held from February 11 to 15, 2009,
Around 600 companies , Exhibitors from 26 countries are participating in this exhibition that covers an area of 44,000 square metres making it the largest air show in Asia !

At the outset, the pic used on the page (air_indiya.jpg) is NOT from Aero India 2009. Because of a recent crash of a Surya-Kiran acrobatic team air-craft this Jan 22, only 6 BJTs participated this year (And NOT 9 as shown in the pic).
Secondly, I was fortunate enough to witness the Aero-India 2009 myself, and to capture the beautiful fighter jets in my DSC H50 right from the runways. Is there any way I can share the snaps here? Let me know on my e-mail pls.
