3 Reasons Yi Jianlian’s Home Team Doesn’t Want Him in Milwaukee
Yi Jianlian was drafted 6th overall by the Milwaukee Bucks.
However, Yi doesn't want to play for the team. His home team doesn't want him to play for them either.
There are at least two reasons, or possibly a mixture of the two…maybe a third
1. There aren't many Chinese in Milwaukee = Yi's commercial development is limited.
Translated, he's not worth as much there.
Of course the Guangong Tigers are denying this and have an even more stupid reason.
2. The Bucks aren't a good enough team. The Tigers want Yi to play
for a team "suitable for Yi's growth."
3. The Bucks are too good…they also have 7-foot Andrew Bogut of Australia.
The Tigers want Yi to grow in ability in the lead up to the Beijing 2008 Summer Games. He may not get enough playing time in Milwaukee.
And…they'd like to make a lot of money off him, too.
Why do you think Yi and his team don't want him to play in Milwaukee?
I can't imagine it being a happy situation if he does end up there now, can you?
