Skye Chan will represent Hong Kong at the Miss World 2008 pageant at Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg on Saturday 13th December 2008.

Occupation: Flight Attendant

Height: 5’5”

Weight: 105lb

Miss Sin Yeung CHAN

Age: 24 Height: 165

Languages: Chinese, English & Japanese

Sin Yeung grew up in Hong Kong.

She attended university of CUHK and was a graduate exchange student in Nagoya, Japan.

After returning from Japan she was involved in translating for many events such as: the Japanese Food Festival in Hong Kong.

Her hobbies and sporting interests are: Traveling; reading; cooking; singing; piano; listening to classical and show music; swimming.

Sin Yeung likes both the traditional local food and the Japanese cuisine.

Her motto is “To broaden one’s intellectual horizon and keep within the bounds of propriety. To take the world as it is”.

    I must say that skye chan did not deserve second place in Miss Chinese International, there were many others who were much more attractive (in terms of beauty, body shape and height) than she is (New York,Nanjing,Germany, Seattle, etc, etc), yet none of them placed. It just shows how far hong kong beauty pageant organisers are willing to go to support their own local representatives. There is no fairness to that competition at all, she is much too average of a person. At least Edelweiss is much taller, skye is simply too average to come second in an international beauty pageant

    and it’s an embarrassment for someone like that to represent Hong Kong in an international beauty pageant like Miss World when all the other contestants are much taller, have better looking faces, and better bodies. It does not reflect well on Hong Kong as a nation, or a part of China, at all. Foreigners are just going to laugh when they see that this is the best that Hong Kong can offer. I am ashamed
