Sandra Angelia – Representing Indonesia at Miss World 2008

Sandra Angelia will represent Indonesia at the Miss World 2008 pageant at Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg on Saturday 13th December 2008.

Sandra Angelia is from East Java. She studied architecture at the University of Western Australia after fleeing Indonesia at the age of 13 during the May 1998 riots.

When asked about wearing a bikini -

I have to wear a swimsuit in the competition, that’s no problem. But if it can be negotiated I will stick to eastern values, that is I will wear a one-piece swimsuit.

Sandra was born in Surabaya, East Java, lived in Perth Australia, and is now living in Jakarta, Indonesia.  (Her parents are priests and work for the leading Christian Churches in Indonesia and Asia).

Sandra studied Architecture and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental design.

Sandra is currently working as a Church Activist & Social Worker.

Her ambition is to focus on free education for children in Indonesia.

Sandra has also worked as a news reporter and presenter for a talk show and music channel.

Her interests are:  Travel; singing; listening to Jazz; reading; swimming; Tambourine dance; and has a special talent in silk painting.

Her favourite food is: ‘Gado Gado’, a typical Indonesian vegetable cuisine with a peanut sauce dressing.
