Samsung and Sony are in Cahoots
It seems that Samsung and Sony have decided to team up …to the tune of $2 billion to see if the two of them can do better than either of them can do alone.
Their goal is to expand joint production of liquid crystal display panels to meet a soaring global demand for flat-screen teleivions.
Presently they make about 60,000 panels a month. They hope to nearly double that at a new production line that will start operation in late 2007.
Koreans and Japanese have bad blood between them, but it doesn’t seem to spill over into the business conference room, does it?
As for me, I am happy to see the Hertz of Asian electronics team up with AVIS of Asia to do business. It can’t help but be better for relations between Japan and Korea and for consumers.
What do you think?
