Japan Buys Silicon Valley

Posted by Bill Belew on May 9th, 2006 in Japan | No Comments

I saw an interesting figure in today’s San Jose Mercury News.

The top 150 companies in Silicon Valley had a combined market value on Friday of $1.18 Trillion Dollars. That’s Google + Intel + Yahoo + Sun Microsystems + 146 other top companies = $1.18 trillion.

Well,  if all the average Japanese households got together and went to the bank they could buy all of Silicon Valley TWICE

Japan has a lot of money in the bank.

Why aren’t more companies going after the Japanese market?

What do you think?

i think in some ways it is easier to sell crap to america. we all just gotta have it, the whole bigger and better mentality.

i think that america just thinks they are the best and they dont need foreign companies. If it was me i would jump on that gravy train right now.
