Twilight Eclipse review, trailer
Eclipse brings the 3rd installment of Twilight to life with undead glamour. The cinematography is still gorgeous. The panoramas and settings give the film a larger than life appeal. Director David Slade’s perspective heightens tension as the film escalates toward slick fight scenes and angsty teen drama.

The costuming was toned down for Eclipse, but makeup definitely improved. Bella and Edward were no longer wearing the same color lipstick. The Cullens still look otherworldly and haute. Nikki Reed as Rosalie has a more elegant look than she has before. Esme Cullen was finally made up to look less domestic and more chilling. And Jackson Rathbone as Jasper is breathtaking on screen. He and Alice Greene are definite scene-stealers.
As expected, high-speed fights mingled with romance and teen love. The dialogue was what you’d expect of a teen movie. Some of it’s hard to hear over a theater full of squealing, giggling girls who are arguing about who is hotter: Edward or Jacob. There are plenty of laughs along with lots of romance though – enough to give teen girls reason to que-up and watch it again.
The Volturi lacked luster as the most powerful coven of the Vampire world, but their appearance was brief. The Vampire army and the Cullen clan clashed beautifully with the wolves adding plenty to the fight scenes. Other chase scenes were just as well done.

IMDB says, “Twilight fever is showing no sign of abatement with the film’s third installment. In fact, fans of the series seem even more juiced up than usual. The film grossed in excess of $30 million from its midnight shows Tuesday in over 4,000 theaters across North America.”
Eclipse delivers exactly what you got in line for: popcorn, soda, and a couple of hours of fun with fangs. It gets 4 stars for that. All of this leaves just one question to be answered by fans. Who do you love? Edward or Jacob? This reviewer says Jasper steals the show.
