‘Top Gun’ director Tony Scott dies after jumping off bridge
It was reported on August 20,2012 that one of the most successful British directors in Hollywood Tony Scott, died on Sunday August 19, 2012. Scott, 68, jumped to death from a Los Angeles County bridge. He was famous for directing movies like “Top Gun”, “Days of Thunder”,”Enemy of the State” and “Beverly Hills Cop II”,

Los Angeles County Coroner’s Lt. Joe Bale said that the death was being investigated as a suicide. A suicide note was found at his office after Scott’s body was pulled from murky waters.
Tony Scott was producer and director Ridley Scott’s younger brother. While Ridley Scott mastered the creation of entire worlds with such films as “Gladiator”, “Blade Runner”, “Alien” and this year’s “Prometheus”, Tony Scott was known for hyper-kinetic action and editing on such films as his most recent, the runaway train thriller “Unstoppable”, starring Denzel Washington.
Scott was married to actress Donna Scott, who appeared in several of her husband’s films. They have twin sons
