“The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” opens on June 18 2010
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opens mid month in Universal Orlando’s Islands of Adventure. If you’ve been waiting to shop Diagon Alley, June 18th should be on your calendar
The park promises quidditch, dragons, and hippogriff rides along with other attractions.
Sodahead says, “The mayor of London, Boris Johnson, wrote a scalding article in the “Telegraph” explaining why he “deeply resents” that the park was built in America, and not J.K. Rowling’s homeland. Johnson wrote that he has “nothing against Orlando, though you are, of course, far more likely to get shot or robbed there than London.” He admitted that he adores America, but is upset by foreign exploitation of British “intellectual property,” such as splitting the atom, building “the finest cars on earth,” and of course Harry Potter. He also made an off claim that England invented the internet.”

Breaking Global news reports, “Fully endorsed by J.K.Rowling, the Harry Potter theme park is not some flash in the pan idea that was cobbled together to cash in on the movies. Not only has over $250 been invested in the project but Universal maintains it will run for at least 9 years. Of course to make this money back, they will allow visitors to also purchase a whole range of Harry Potter merchandise from broomsticks to wands and Hogwarts memorabilia.”
