Mission Impossible actor Peter Graves dies of heart attack, photo
American film and television actor Peter Graves (83) best known for his role as Jim Phelps in Mission Impossible died of an apparent heart attack outside his Los Angeles home.
Sandy Brokaw, Peter Graves’s publicist, said that Graves died on Sunday shortly after returning to his Los Angeles home from brunch with his family. His daughter tried to revive him, but failed.
Peter Graves was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on 18 March, 1926. He is the younger brother of actor James Arness (Gunsmoke).
In 1994, Peter spent 2 years in the US Army Air Force. Later, he attended the University of Minnesota, where he was a member of ‘Phi Kappa Psi’ fraternity. He married Joan Endress in 1950.
In 1971, he won a ‘Golden Globe Award’ for his role in the series ‘Mission Impossible’ and an ‘Emmy Award’ for outstanding informational series as host of A&E Biography in 1997.
