Lindsay Lohan responds to her 90-day jail sentence

Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan has been sentenced to 90 days in Los Angeles County Jail.

The actress was found guilty of violating her parole. She will also be in an inpatient rehabilitation program for substance abusers.

MTV shares director Wilder’s response, “This is a sad chapter in the ongoing tragicomic circus between the tabloid media and the ‘justice’ system,” Wilder wrote in a statement to MTV News. “An outrageously outsized sentence garners attention for all the players involved, but brings only sadness to the poor soul who has to serve it. I am 100% behind Lindsay and can say the same for everyone involved in the production of ‘Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story.’ Indeed, we are proud to have this remarkable artist work on our film. And as for the haters relishing this moment, I can only quote Jesus in ‘The Last Temptation of Christ’: ‘And those who are laughing now…will be crying after.”

Pop Crunch reports, “Today’s hearing stemmed from Lohan’s 2007 collar on drunken driving and cocaine possession charges. The actress spent 84 minutes in jail that year as part of a plea bargain and was given three years probation. Judge Revel remarked that a court order sentencing Lohan to weekly alcohol education meeting was made very clear to the star — adding that Lindsay did not adhere to the terms of her probation. The angry judge bellowed that she would not accept excuses for Lohan’s lack of compliance.”

Lindsay Lohan has been sentenced to 90 days in Los Angeles County Jail. Judge Judge Marsha Revel determined that Lohan was in violation of her probation. Additionally, Lohan will be in an inpatient substance abuse program. The 24-year-old star has had numerous problems with alcohol abuse.

The Celebrity Cafe says, “The judge presiding over the hearing, Marsha Revel, cited several instances since Lohan’s 2007 DUI where the Mean Girls actress had lied about possessing drugs or alcohol. “It’s like someone who cheats but doesn’t think it’s cheating if they don’t get caught,” Revel said of Lohan’s infractions. Revel then called all of Lohan’s defenses “excuses” and ordered the 24-year old to surrender on the morning of July 20. Lohan left the hearing in tears.”

Lindsay has been rehearsing for her role in Inferno. She is cast as the ’70s porn star Linda Lovelace. Director Matthew Wilder has been extremely supportive of the troubled actress.
