Thief robs Rs 8000 from Aishwarya Rai’s house, arrested
It was reported on Jul 23, 2012 that a 20-year-old youth broke into actor Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow Jalsa in Juhu on Friday.
As per the police, the accused has been identified as Deepak Kewat, who hails from Madhya Pradesh and had come to Mumbai around a month ago.
Deepak climbed the Gulmohar tree adjacent to Jalsa, jumped on the rain shed and through the balcony entered a top-floor bedroom.
He pocketed Rs8,000 in a drawer , but while escaping with the cash a domestic help raised an alarm. The thief was nabbed by security guard and handed over to the Juhu police.
Ddeputy commissioner of police, Pratap Dighavkar said that Deepak has been arrested for house break-in, produced in the court and remanded in police custody for 14 days.
Commenting on the incident, superstar Amitabh Bachchan wrote on his blog on Saturday: “Spent some anxious moments yesterday since we had a break in! The guy was caught and is with the police now under investigation. Seems like a professional, for he had entered the most sensitive area of the house, Jalsa. Cops and security are in over drive now. In the end nothing is secure, irrespective of how much precaution one takes”.
Amitabh Bachchan lives with wife Jaya, son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya in Jalsa .
