Sanjay Dutt gives up drinking for his role as Police Officer

Sanjay dutt has hit the gym and gave up whiskey for his upcoming film, tentatively titled “Thanedar returns” directed by Tamil film director KS Ravikumar. The movie is a remake of the 2003 Tamil hit, Vikram’s movie “Saamy”.

Sanjay will be seen playing the role of a lean and mean police officer. The role required the actor to get in shape. So he had to trade his glass of whiskey for a pair of dumbbells.

The film producer TP Agarwal said “Sanjay has quit drinking, making an exception only on special occasions. He’s working out for two hours in the morning and another two hours in the evening,”

Sanjay Dutt said, “I am excited about the character, so i’m trying hard to get in shape for it. a proper diet and some health drinks along with the right workout are required to get those muscles that fit the (look of the) character. i’ve already lost weight.”

The film will feature south actor Prakash Raj reprising his role as villain and Om puri in a pivotal role.
