Mandira Bedi the Kolkatta Girl rocked the Kolkata Fashion week and kept the audience spell bound by her elegant ramp walk on saturday.

Kolkata Fashion Week 2009 the second edition began with a big bang on sept 9th at the fashion city of India , Kolkatta. Many popular and talented artists from India have participated and performed in this event.

An excited Mandira later told reporters: “Kolkata is my birth place. This is the first time I have walked the ramp in Kolkata. In real life the endorsements and the shows I do, I mostly wear Satya Paul saris.

“I have walked for Satya Paul in Delhi and Dubai,” she said, draped in a red woven zari sari, with mock weaving with embroideries on it.

“When I started off in Kolkata 40 years before, I could not find a single craftsman ready to work. They all were interested in going in other fields despite having the skills,” she said adding that now the situation has improved.
