Kareena will not change her faith for marriage

Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor plans to retain her identity even after marrying actor Saif Ali Khan . The ceremony will take place at the Pataudi Palace in Pataudi village on October 16.

Though Kareena is would become the Begum of Pataudi, she has Hindu wedding plans and may not convert to Islam for her marriage to Saif Ali Khan who is the newly anointed Nawab of Pataudi.

Saif Ali Khan said in an interview that he would never want her Kareena to change her religion. Kareena has said that she follows all religions and has been visiting a church ever since she was a child since her grandmother (Babita’s mom) was Catholic.

The inter-faith marriages in Pataudi family till now had women converted to Islam for the nikaah. Sharmila took the name Ayesha Begum to get married to Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, in a nikaah ceremony. Amrita Singh converted to Islam by a maulavi for the secret wedding with Saif Ali Khan.

A source said portions of the palace will be renovated and several rooms re-done. The source added that they are not yet aware whether it will be a nikaah or a Hindu marriage
