Kahaani grosses 75 crores at box office, still running houseful

Bollywood actress Vidya Balan starrer movie ‘Kahaani’ , which narrated a different story to the audience, recently grossed Rs 75 crores at the Box office. The story of the movie is totally different from that of the regular Bollywood flick and is even made with a budget of just Rs 8 crores.

Director Sujoy Ghosh, did not even insert a single lip synched song in the movie but still managed to grab the attention of the audience, who is normally used to some hard core masala entertainment. The movie, with Vidya Balan, Parambrata Chatterjee and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead roles, received a good opening.

‘Kahaani’ was released across 1100 screens worldwide and surprisingly is still running to packed houses. Even the overseas collections alone has managed to beat records of many other expensive movies released in recent times including ‘The Dirty Picture’.

There was just a ten percent drop in the second week of ‘Kahaani’. The movie apart from the audience was also appreciated by the critics despite the fact that the movie did not have anything that a conventional Hindi movie has.
