Samsung Eyes Handset Plant in Vietnam

Samsung Electronics will build handsets and printers in Vietnam.
The company was to turn out 100 million units.
The company is waiting for a green light from the Vietnamese government.
Samsung is chasing world leader, Nokia. The new Vietnamese plant will put out more units than South Korea's own Gumi.
Samsung wants to supply the world with 200 million handsets in 2008, up 43% from the 157 million it will beam up this year.
Samsung has plants at:
1. home in Gumi
2. Tianjin
3. Shenzhen
4. Haizhou
5. Delhi
6. Campinas, Brazil
India's Chennai will be the next location for an overseas plant.
Labor costs in China, India and Vietnam are one-tenth those in South Korea.
And, THAT is why companies outsource?
