Alibaba.com and Softbank Japan JV Looms

Alibaba is giving back to Softbank Japan to the tune of $507 million in profits this year.

The Japanese telecommunications giant, Softbank, owns one third of Alibaba of China, the eBay of China.

Alibaba wants to do business in Japan.

Hah! How about a joint venture of Alibaba and Softbank?

Indeed. 

The Y55 billion ($507 million) profit boost came from the flotation of the Chinese

With that much money to play around, and then some, next year may be when the two finally form a JV and Alibaba jumps into the Japanese market.
